T rue Vintage Hat. 1930s, 1940s, 1950s Navy woven hat. I imported this hat from the USA several years ago. There are two genuine vintage US labels sewn into the hat. Consumers Protection Label (pic 5). This Label was used from 1938 to the 1950’s after. US Congress passed the Fair Labor Standards Act n 1938. This has been my “go to” summer hat because Navy is so versatile, it goes with absolutely everything. The woven style lets the air through and I have only need to use a Hat pin to secure this hat and it stays even when its windy. Colour is dark Navy with a grosgrain bow sewn at the back. Picture 7 is taken from inside the hat showing the woven design and the bow (which is sewn on the outside, can be seen). I have worn this hat two different ways. Worn on the side (like a french beret) almost covering my eye showing one victory roll (See Pictures 1 and 2 of this style). Worn more towards the back of my head so I can show Victory rolls on both sides of my head, almost has a halo hat effect when worn like this. Wearing the hat like this works well with 40s curls and you can see there is still room for a victory roll at the side and front. See Pictures 8 to 12 showing this style. I have used a hat pin to secure the hat for this style. Hat pin is not for sale and not included. The flowers are pale orange, yellow and cream with a splash of pink. 23 represents the size of the hat band. Will be posted in a box to protect it.
