Antique Wide Brim Gibson Girl Black Ostrich Feather Velvet Hat. Absolutely gorgeous wide brim turn of the century antique Ostrich Feather Hat. The base of the hat is velvet and underneath all of those feathers is a very wide grosgrain bow. The hat is lined with satin. It measures approximately 19 across and has stiffening wire at the edge for shape. There is an old pearl hat pin still attached to the hat. There are no broken feathers. One feather has a few nicks on the quill which could easily be touched up. There is an elastic type band attached to the lining to secure the hat in place but it has broken and deteriorated with time. Please review all of the pictures because they are the best description.
