This Fashion Forward vintage chapeau carries two labels – SALLY VICTOR 18 East 53rd St. Designed by the infamous milliner who created hats for Hollywood Starlets (Judy Garland), Presidents wives (Eleanor Roosevelt) and Queens (Queen Elizabeth II), crafted in tightly woven raven black straw, curved and wired edge with a half brim flared gently around the brow, smooth cloche like rear with pointed nape, black grosgrain brow band, midnight black wool felt lining the underside of the petite straw brim, slouched and draped crown embellished with an oversized bouquet of lush black feathers. The straw remains supple with no breaks, the hand trimmed rounded edge bird feather plumes remain richly hued, minor storage dust, storage distortion and lint to the materials, some soiling to the interior grosgrain brow band, photos 1 and 3 are shown with the hat tilted more to the side, measuring approximately as noted below and offered as found.
