Original French 1940s,’Fourmy’ Nice. Ladies black straw wide brim hat. A stunning, original, French 1940s ladies wide brim picture hat in black straw. Made by highly regarded milliners of the period’Fourmy’ of Nice, France. Beautifully made from intricately woven black ribbon straw and shaped perfectly into a shallow crown with a demi wide brim. A fabulous wide deep pink ribbon sits around the crown falling into a bow at the front and a twist at the back. There is an inner grosgrain banding and milliners label. An elastic secures – to be lost in your hair at the back. The epitome of elegance, the ultimate sophisticated and feminine look, fabulous for weddings, a formal occasion or ladies day. It can be worn at a sharp asymmetric angle as shown or straight. Ladies medium, size 22. In excellent condition, clean and totally wearable.
