Original late 1930s/Early 1940s WWII Cadbury Purple Velvet Tilt Topper with Veil. This hat is from my own personal collection, which has been exhibited in Museums, Fashion Shows and has also appeared on the Antiques Roadshow. Sadly, lack of space is reluctantly forcing sale of part of my collection. This is a show stopper of a hat in a beautiful rich Cadbury Purple velvet with a matching lighter shade French silk veil. It has a black back band. These hats are one size fits all – and are really flattering to all face shapes and hair colouring. The hat label gives the size as 22 which is a medium but it does fit all sizes! Condition is Used – this is in very good vintage condition – there are no make up marks present in this hat but unfortunately, there are a couple of small holes in the violet veiling which I have tried to show. These are not glaring at all and I did have to hunt for them! The label is from the wonderful designers New York Creations. Please remember that this item is almost 80 years old and as such is a vintage item going towards antique. It may have an odour – which all vintage clothing acquires over time. I do not believe in shoving fabric conditioner sheets in with items – this does run the risk of damage on delicate garments and frankly, I much prefer the honest fragrance of a timeless piece rather than some hideous chemically induced smell. This item has had a previous life and at least two previous owners! If you want something that is pristine, then this item is not for you. Please examine the images carefully before committing yourself and if in any doubt, please ask questions. I do, in the interests of the environment, reuse clean packaging wherever possible. The carrier will normally be Hermes – I rarely use the post office unless for a small parcel.
