Rare vintage 1920’s Egyptian Revival brass headpiece, comprised of three adjustable hammered bands, lotus flower medallions at each side, and iridescent green drops framed by loops of pearl beads on a movable arm. A fantastic piece of fashion history. Following the discovery of King Tutankhamun’s tomb in 1922, Egyptian ornamentation and imagery was a major source of inspiration for fashion designers, artists, and architects alike. It has areas of tarnish and discoloration throughout, and some rust where bands meet behind the medallions and at medallion centers. There is subtle color variation among the pearl beads and a few have finish loss. One pearl loop has one less bead than the other.
