An elegant antique original 1880s red velvet hat that has been de-accessioned from a museum collection. The hat is trimmed with gold metallic lace and beige chenille velvet trims. The chenille velvet is used to create a lattice effect on the back of the bonnet. The hat is also decorated with rhinestone buckles. It has red silk chin ties and is lined with white silk. The hat is in very good condition. There is no wear to the velvet. To be on the safe side all items are packed wearing gloves and face mask.
