1950s ladies day hat covered in velvet pansies. This is an exceptional hat from the 1950s, it is just so pretty. Made by’Fishmans’ of Elizabeth. Formed upon a dark purple mesh base with a rounded crown and wide rounded brim edged in purple velvet. Purple, lilac, mauve and yellow millinery pansies entirely cover the hat. A lilac grosgrain ribbon bands the crown and falls in as sash to the back. An original tall hat pin sits to the back (a collectors piece in its own right) together with a smaller original hat pin. The interior has a velvet banding and the original milliners label. This is a collectors piece, a rare and exceptional hat. It is in excellent vintage condition, clean and totally wearable.
