French 1950s ladies’New Look’ picture hat from the Couture house of Jean Patou. This is an exceptional 1950s New Look hat from Jean Patou, Paris, France. Formed in a fine quality straw effect pink rayon fabric this iconic fifties wide brim’New Look’ hat is very beautiful. The iconic platter is shaped beautifully with ribbons of pink waving around the wide brim falling to a pretty bow at the back. The crown has a plaited banding. Floral raffia creates the top of the hat in hues of powder blues and pinks. The interior has the original Jean Patou label and an inner wired head form that bends to fit the wearer and secures the hat perfectly. It may be worn straight or at a jaunty tilt. This style is very easy to wear, it will always look elegant and fit well to the head. Of one size with an inner wired crown which you bend to fit. In excellent condition, clean and totally wearable.
