Victorian Edwardian mourning hat bonnet constructed of finely woven straw with raffia millinery trim, large sequins with glass beads, the most wonderful wired plaited straw with finest organza and glass bead decoration and embroidered net a couple of small holes to the net but not obvious, only found when really rummaging! . The fastening is a fine ribbon with a cut jet button finial. There is a fabric covered metal frame to the front and neck of the bonnet, the lining is complete and a good colour as is the complete hat and odour free. A good black, the photos make the straw look brown/ faded but this is not the case. Overall hat width externally 17.5cm approximately. Internal width 13.5cm approximately. Hat top to bottom 24cm including trims. In excellent condition overall, clean and no odours, the best one I have had. Small jet thistle hat pin to back.
