Decided to dig into my personal collection and pull out this amazingly rare antique hat for sale! This truly museum quality hat is made of natural straw that is sewn into a large wide brim shape. The brim diameter is 21 inches by 18 inches, or 53 centimeters by 46 centimeters. So you can imagine how massive this hat is! The brim has a band of black velvet along the edge on the underside. On the top of the hat is soft floral chiffon that gracefully flows around the wide crown. There are some little rips in the chiffon but overall, is intact. There are some little white flowers sewn around the hat in different spots and a huge white silk poppy with green stamen. This flower is starting to shred but is still pretty. You could easily put a new flower on in its place. The brim also has wire sewn around the edge for you to shape it. It is fully lined. I always thought I would keep this hat forever but its ready for a new home! Its quite large and does take up a bit of space. This hat is a rare item as you hardly find them like this in America. They are all in museum collections or hoarded in private collections where they will never leave from!
