A quite romantic and oh so charming antique hat, with very pretty trims and ostrich plumes. Genuine Edwardian era, circa 1910 to 1912, era of The Titanic and early Downton Abbey years. A wide brim of supple and very fine Milan straw braid, wrapped with a huge and extra fluffy and frilly large ivory plume and sweet pale purple and pink millinery flowers of linen and silk with green paper leaves. A hatband of black silk velvet, with a large floppy bow of French lace catched in a large Edwardian fancy millinery buckle. Label is Kaufman’s Pittsburgh, in orange silk on the black taffeta lining. Size is large, about 23 1/2 around the inside. The plumes are magnificent! Wonderful for historical dress events. This would look better on a real woman’s head with a piled up hair do to support the hat. A wonderful genuine antique hat for the warm weather events that will be ahead.
