The perfect chapeau to wear with your early 1950s “sack” dress or slim lined suit! A very special and iconic vintage early 1950s hat from French Haute Couture fashion designer Christian Dior. A lush and dense buttery soft French fur felt with a velour finish, in a rich chocolate brown. A deep cloche chimney or bell shape, with a deep flared brim that comes down over the forehead. Brim is wrapped in a lush Duchesse satin in black. Size is a sort of one size fits all, about 22 around inside, and sits low on the forehead on most ladies. Satin label is Christian Dior, Paris New York. Reminds me a bit of the hat worn by Audrey Hepburn in “Breakfast At Tiffany’s”. Dates to the early 1950s and is really quite wonderful for the fashion and millinery collector. Clean, in very good condition. I show the hat on a full sized millinery head, the head is not included.
