A very romantic antique hat, with really retty purple lilacs, beautiful millinery flowers! Opulent pure white ostrich plumes wrap around the crown, very frilly and full with lots of movement. A deep crown and medium wide brim, the hat is made of a good black silk crepe, draped nicely. The lilacs are made of cotton and have frilly edges and green cloth stems. In front/side is a gorgeous millinery adornment of 3 loops of purple toned cording with rosettes. This is SO darn pretty! Large head size, inner circumference is 22 1/2. Fully lined in black taffeta. The facing (underside of brim) is cream silk crepe. I cannot read the makers name stamped on the lining, only the word “Millinery” is visible, rest of faded. Some age but still very wearble and lovely, was well stored away. I show the hat on a full sized millinery head, the head is not included.
