Antique Victorian Ladies Hat. Fabulous women’s antique hat in a blue velvet and corded twill. Features a very high crown and rolled brim in the style termed as’Flower Pot’. As the shape is fashioned like an upside down flower pot! Cascading purplish blue plumes adorn the front side, as well as an applied ovoid shaped. Hat has a dropped inner lining so it stays high on the head, but also enough room for an up-do. The higher up you go the smaller it gets, so the inner side to side and front to back measurements are larger than normal. Hat measurements are as follows. 9 inches tall, inside from side to side measures 8.5 inches by 8 inches. Condition is excellent for an antique victorian hat. No tears, no odors. No fading except perhaps the plumes were once blue? It’s hard to say. It looks great like it is. Found in an early multi generational estate in southern Illinois. Scarce antique fashion accessory!
