A genuine antique, Edwarian era, 1912 hat, a true French Model. Big wide brim with two of most huge and wide, thick and fluffy ostrich plumes ever!! They cover almost the entire hat, almost floating across the brim. The hat has an eliptical shape, with a deep cloche crown and a oval wide brim. On the side is a large pouf of ruffled silk lace a rosette with a big beautiful gold toned metal brooch. Hat is made of black silk millinery velvet with a wired edge. Lined in black silk, with the makers name GAGE Bros. Paris Chicago New York. Shows some age but the plumes are very good, no shedding. Beautiful to wear to a Titanic or Downton Abbey themed event, , or just to collect. Large headsize, the inner circumference is about 23 around. Very nice, and a scarce find.
