A grand and opulent, vintage Edwardian revival hat from my favorite British milliner SANDRA PHILLIPPS of London, England. A true replication of an antique hat from circa 1912, made of lush and dense silk velvet in a glorious color of wine red. A burgundy maroon color, not quite so vivid as it looks here but a deep rich ruby tone. On the side front is a wrap of velvet and a wired bow that is so romantic. Fully lined in black satin with her signature patented “adjustable” hidden headsize band that stretches to fit any size head, and is a good large size even when not expanded. On me, and I wear a size 22 1/2, it sits nice and low on my forehead as the Edwardians did. Super fine quality, not feather light but very very comfy on the head. I have this hat in sage green velvet and I treasure it as my favorite hat ever. Every time I wear it to a vintage event or dinner party, someone tells me “that is the most beautiful hat I have ever seen”. Extremely hard to find, dates to the 1990s.
