An original late Victoria, 1890s lady’s delightful hat bonnet that is in excellent condition. RARE to find in this color and in such fabulous condition. Created with rich chocolate brown velvet around the wire frame that is on the top and bottom of the brim, the top is gold and brown plaid, then accented with very large bows that are created with the most beautiful 3.5″ wide gold and brown paisley print satin brocade ribbon; the satin is 2 1/2″ wide and 1 wide matching velvet on the edge. On the right side, Under the bow is a half of a bow that is created with matching plaid velvet while in back left side, laying on the bow is a large 3 wide velvet double rosette that I believe it to resemble a flower. The total size is 9″ x 10″ , approx 26 around. Inside is lined in soft sturdy black cotton. A fabulous addition to any serious collection; this superb example of the smaller hats from the mid 1880s to mid 1890s has been in my collection and has been in a climate controlled environment.
