This is an amazing, beautiful, Edwardian period, Ca 1910, lady’s hat. The hat is made of silk velvet with black feathers, of two types, and celluloid dangles all decorating the brim. The outer edges of the brim are edged in black, shiny raffia. The crown can rise above the brim by 6 inches if you want to stuff it or pile an updo inside it. It is lined in silk. It has four large, tear drop, cutout dangles hanging from amongst the feathers. The look is pure classic Edwardian elegance. The condition of the hat is excellent antique. There is a slight bit of light makeup residue on the inside band of the brim where it meets the forehead. No holes, rips, tears or stains in the velvet. Feathers are all good. Celluloid dangles are shiny, no dulling, peeling or cracking. No shredding or splitting on the silk liner. All the raffia border is fine. The hat has the average 22 circumference. The brim is 5″ wide, and the crown rises 6″ as stated above or it can sit flatter on the crown if desired.
