This is a very saucy little vintage, 1940s, lady’s hat!! It is sculpted out of brown wool felt and is adorned on one side with brown curly ostrich feathers. It has a wide and curved brim, and It has a swirled wool felt crown which sits high up above the head. It would have been worn tilted to one side and was probably worn with a business suit or a coat. I remember watching Heddy Lamar most gorgeous woman ever to be in films!! In my opinion in a very similar hat to this one in a British, 1940s flick where she was on a bridge in the fog waiting for her lover. She pulled the hat down over her brow and tried to look nonchalant and nondescript which was impossible for her because of her incredible beauty. Rosalind Russell comes to mind also when she played the madcap reporter who constantly grabbed her hat, very similar to this one in form and style, as she rushed out to do an interview for a story or pushed it to the back of her crown as she stood her ground with Cary Grant in the news room. This hat is a true 1940s classic, and it is in beautiful condition. It has an average 22 approximately circumference. There are no flaws.
