This is a lovely 1940s era hat made in Montreal by milliner Flore Deschamps. It is made of natural straw with a wide brim. The crown is decorated with three pulled silk pieces, one in two tones of blue, one black and one a mix of violet and light blue, wrapped with a black velvet ribbon. Label: The label reads “Haute Mode Flore Deschamps 276 Mont Royal E Montreal”. According to historical sources, during the 1930s that address was attributed to “Salon Flora”, but in 1939, it started to be attributed to Miss Flore Deschamps. Sizing: No size is indicated, as it is custom made. Still, this should fit a medium sized head. Please note the following measurements. 4 3/4 following the contour on the underside. The hat is in very clean condition – no cracks, wear or soiling, except to the label. This hat has been very well cared for over the years.
