Gorgeous black velvet and straw hat from the 1950s. Dramatic silhouette – meant to perch on top of the head. Shaped support and elastic “chin strap” to help keep it in place. Straw fringe accents velvet. Hat measures 16 inches in diameter (without counting the edges of the fringe that hang over). The diameter of the velvet middle is 7 1/2 inches but the inner circumference that comes in contact with the head measures about 19 inches. There will be some shedding. It is virtually impossible to move it and not find fringe somewhere. There are some misshaped or perhaps broken elements still attached – see pix to understand.
