This is a fabulous antique ORIGINAL Edwardian to mid teens straw hat, extremely decorated with gads of various types and sizes of berry fruits including clusters and silk leaves. The fruit is completely around the hat. The overall straw is covered with a sheer chiffon and a wide hole veiling. And 7 feathers that I believe are ring neck pheasants, the feathers graduate in size. It is an 8″ wide 4.5″ high crown which is appropriate for the era, the brim is 2 wide. The feathers extend as high as 10.5 high. The hat is in overall very good condition, there is a 9 slit in the straw on the underlayer of the brim that I believe can easily be repaired by gluing or restitching. The fruit is in excellent condition, the silk chiffon is also very strong. This is an exceptional hat that only a wealthier woman would have owned, truly High Fashion of the era!
