Victorian mourning hat made by C Pitcher a Milliner of St Stephens street, Norwich. The hat has a wire framework covered by a fine net which is now brown, most likely faded from black over time. There is some beading but there are losses. There are some sequins and four small paste buckles 10mm square sewn to the centre of large ribbon bows. There are black and dark blue feathers amongst the wide satin ribbon bows which terminate in two long ties approximately 73cm long each, one minor rip to edge about 6mm and a small amount of wear. Makers label inside silver grey printed on brown cotton, black cotton lining , clean and odour free. Overall framework width 17cm. Framework front to rear 15.5cm.
