Exquisite excellent extremely scarce late 1800’s Victorian Antique amazingly constructed heirloom velvet black hat by French designer Paul Virot & Berthe.. From place vendome in Paris France… Rarely seen and mostly on display in museums as pictured in our photographs….. Wide brimmed black velvet hat with large fushia pink millinery accent flower…. Lattice work weave black velvet cord over black silk… There is a hidden wire support around the outside of the brim and top of crown…. Underside of brim has sweet gathered or puckered tufts of black silk and netting…. Drawstring attached to underside of rim…. Beautiful period awesome chapeau.. Wonderful piece for costume designers, Hollywood movies or just to display.. Label as pictured and loose a bit..
