This is a wonderful, wearable hat, dating to the Edwardian. Unlike a Cloche, which fits snug to the head, this toque is meant to sit atop the head, slightly tilted to one side. This hat is very well-made with the crown a jet black felt trimmed and lined with black silk. A large cut out velvet appliqué of a flower decorates, one side of the hat.
