Unusual Victorian 19th C Faille Bonnet W Velvet Leaves + Gold Pins, Lace Lappets
UNUSUAL VICTORIAN 19TH C FAILLE BONNET W VELVET LEAVES + GOLD PINS, LACE LAPPETS. DATING TO THE VICTORIAN 19TH CENTURY. FASHIONED OF AN OFF WHITE SILK FAILLE OVER A STIFFENED BASE. UNUSUAL IN THE FACT THAT THE REAR IS SHARPLY NOTCHED TO POSSIBLY FIT OVER A BUN OF GATHERED HAIR. LACE TRIMS ACROSS THE BACK BRIM WITH VELVET IVY LEAVES TRIMMING FULLY AROUND WITH TWO BRASS GOLD ACCENT PINS ATTACHED TO THE FRONT BRIM. ORIGINAL SILK TAFFETA TIES WITH LACE LAPPETS FALLING DOWN EACH SIDE. THE LEFT IS TRIMMED IN THE IVY LEAVES WITH CURLING TENDRILS. INTERIOR IS LINED IN SILK. ONE OF THE LACE LAPPETS IS SHORTER THAN THE OTHER AND I PERSONALLY WOULD TRIM OFF TO MAKE IT EVEN. THE SILK OF THE TIES HAS SOME SOILING AND WATER SPOTTING, AS SEEN, WITH SOME GENERAL SOILING SEEN AROUND THE BRIM EDGE WITH HEAVIER SOILING ON THE VERY CENTER OUTER BRIM, NOTE THE IMAGES. A WONDERFUL ANTIQUE VICTORIAN BONNET IN SUCH FANCIFUL STYLE. TOP TO BOTTOM: 6. Our business name is ANTIQUE WARDROBE. We can be found online on other platforms as well. Antiquewardrobe_ as well as Antique-Wardrobe. And if asked to leave it on, we will. A mistake can happen… Vintage and antique items ARE NOT new items. Often for proper fit, hang, and wear ability, pieces will need to be altered and/or adding a hook or snap here or there, with a seam closure or strengthening needed. Vintage clothing is most often worn previously, and if old stock, often has slight imperfections from storage, a hint of color or odor. These are antique articles, having the age stated.. All flaws if any are painstakingly outlined. _gsrx_vers_1480 GS 9.1.1 (1480).
