Vintage 1940s Black Felt Riding Hat w Amazing Gold Sequined Veil Willshire H77. Please see the EIGHT additional photos below. I couldn’t stop taking pictures! This positively stunning hat from the 40s will turn every head in the room! Wear it with black gloves and rhinestones (see last photo below) to capture the glamour of that bygone era. This hat is made from a strongly molded wool felt with forward thrust shape. The front of the wired brim dips and is slightly pointed and the top front of the crown has a wonderful twist that is accentuated by the two brushed bronze metal buttons. In the twist, the veil is sewn and pinned from underneath. The fine hex netting is decorated with ultra thin, curved gold plastic discs – like sequins but thinner and curved. They dot the veil’s lower edge and also form three flowers shapes – one on each side and one in the back. The left side flower is missing a couple of the discs. Perhaps you could use some from the back design… ? The veil can be worn over the face, though there are several tiny breaks. It can also be worn with only the veil’s front flipped back -or- with the entire veil flipped back, which is probably more in keeping with the equestrian look. I have shown all three veil positions from different angles. Resulting in 20 images! I have put fresh elastic in the tilt bandeau strap. Front brim height 4″; diameter 7 1/2″ x 8 1/2. This style will fit any head. Label: Willshire Distinctive Models. Condition is excellent on the hat; very good on the veil. The hat is very fresh, with only a hint of face powder evident inside the forehead. The veil has several tiny breaks, but they are not too visible due to the small gauge of the net. Some of the curved gold discs are missing. No moth damage; no odors. I have a HUGE amount of vintage hats, vintage clothing and vintage jewelry to sell so check back often!
