VINTAGE LADIES CLOCHE HATS, c1920s THRU 1940s, LOT OF 3. Two 1920s hats from the flapper period and one 1940s hat. One is a hard shell cloche from Paris, one is a natural colored horsehair cloche and one is a velvet cloche. All would make a lovely addition to a collection of antique hats. LEFT TO RIGHT LEFT HAT. A large crown cloche hat with a wide folded woven grosgrain colored ribbon brim. A back bow is formed out of this grosgrain ribbon. Black velvet forms the crown. Black felt forms the lining. Inner sweat band on inner rim is black velvet and grosgrain ribbon and decorated with red hand done stitches. LABEL Reads: NEW YORK, PARIS, MR. JOHN CLASSIC and stamp inside dome READS: MADE IN FRANCE, COTILLION. No stains, no wear, and with no damage. Interior circumference measures approximately 23″ Opening 7-1/2″ x 7-1/2 ” Width 9″ Front to back 9-1/2″ Height of crown 6-1/2″ Width of Band 2-1/4. This lovely handmade 1920s cloche hat is made from a lightweight woven horsehair intertwined, and decorated with applied tan of pleated grosgrain decoration on a grosgrain band. Close fitted deep crown with a brim, fits over the ears, and with no lining, has a tan cloth sweat band and with no label. No stains, repairs or damage to horsehair. Interior circumference approximately 22″ Crown Height 5-1/2″ Brim 1. This handmade 1920s cloche hat is made from a lightweight black velvet machine sewn with rows of stitching, and decorated with applied back black velvet bow with a small brim tapering to back. Close fitted deep crown with a brim, with black satin lining, and with no label. No stains, or repairs. Areas of velvet wear, rip on side as shown in photo, lining ripped. Interior circumference approximately 20-1/2″ Crown Height 6″ Brim in front 2.
