GRAND Antique 1910 Gigantic BIRD OF PARADISE Plumes Hat w French Silk Bow Buckle
Exquisite, grand and dramatic genuine antique Edwardian era hat. Genuine antique, all original, dates to circa 1908 to 1912. A quite huge hat indeed, with an astounding Bird Of Paradise mounted in front, as if landing in flight into the chapeau. This exotic bird is rare, and in amazingly well preserved, excellent condition with full flank plumage, “fine hairs” and wires. His throat feathers glow a vivid absinthe green. The hat is a deep crown wide brim, made of a very thick, sturdry and firm beaverette fur-felt with a furry nap, in dark black, in a tri corn triangular shape. The crown is wrapped in a wide black silk velvet ribbon, and ini back is a huge French silk ribbon bow and steamers. The ribbon is pure silk, with ribbed sides and a silk velvet center stripe. The bow is catched in a glittering silver French cut steel millinery buckle. Lined in a very fine black silk netting. Perfect for your Downton Abbey events and Titanic affairs.
