1950s Bes-Ben Hat Red and Blue Peaked Magus Cap/ 50s Designer Cocktail Hat Fascinator Avant Garde Coiled Tubing Shisha Textile. A fantasy hat full of whimsy and charm – great for a magician/magus/wise man/exotic potentate look! Or style it as a 50s/mid-century modern not to the Orient! Crown is a series of twisted cording in blue and red while the center is a soft, peaked cap section in red fabric with mirrored discs (shisha) encircled with white crochet lace embroidery. There is a blue veil that wraps around and comes down the front of the face. Condition: very good with no visible imperfections to the body, but there are breaks in the veil as is typical of veiled hats from the mid-century. Interior is a red mesh lining and it has the iconic “Bes-Ben Made in Chicago ” label as well a hand written number tag of “115”. There are also two little combs to keep it in place.
