I SHOW OVER 12 PHOTOS BELOW….. Please scroll down thank you. A truly scarce millinery prize. Vintage early 1930s hat from Lilly Dache’. Dates to circa 1932 to 1933, classic Art Deco era style. A sort of odd funnel or envelope shape, made of finest supple French fur felt (not wool). In dark black with black silk piping at the folded over tip and down the side. At the point/ridge is a tall spiking feather, an imitation aigrette feather plume. The hat has a different shape from every angle, and folds flat for traveling. The feather can be re-arranged to point in any direction, and is placed through a small cut in the felt with a tack stitch inside. There was a lovely curving long pheasant feather in the box with this hat so it may have come with 2 plumes. It will be included. This is her early label. Black and silver silk “Lilly Dache’ 385 Madison Avenue, New York, Paris”. I can see Myrna Loy, Great Garbo, or Marlene Dietrich wearing this hat, can’t you? A prize for any collection.
