An antique – late-19th-early-20th-C handmade 1 of a kind Turkish Ottoman “bork” hat which employs a curvalinear applique of bullion on painted-silk — which embroidered with more silk. The effect is reminiscent of Art Nouveau decorative arts which were current at the time this hat was made. The hat is lined with antique taffeta (the “red” is the taffeta’s 2-tone irridescence), is bordered in red-velvet and has silver-leather bordering the front brim. In very good antique-condition — a very small piece of bullion-applique is a bit loose. Dimensions Height 7″ Circumference around 22″ Height of front panel (brim) 3.25.
